The Market View Database contains data for two markets:

1. Supply data — This dataset contains supply data for whole soybeans, soybean meal, and soybean oil for the United States and key consuming regions and countries. The supply data at the component level (whole soybeans, soybean meal, and soybean oil) are from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The supply data for the individual countries include beginning stocks, production, and imports. The regional supply data include only production.

2. Disappearance data — This dataset contains disappearance data for whole soybeans, soybean meal, and soybean oil for the United States and key consuming regions and countries. The disappearance data for the individual countries include consumption, ending stocks, and exports. The regional disappearance data include consumption, ending stocks, and net exports. Consumption includes the categories of industrial, human, and animal consumption. The consumption data at the Region, Breakout Region, Component, and Category levels are provided by the USDA. The estimates for the consumption Category sub-categories from Market Year 2000/2001 and on are provided by industry experts.

The soybean marketing year begins September 1 of the year in which the soybean crop is produced and concludes August 31 of the following year. The soybean meal and soybean oil marketing years begin October 1 of the year in which the soybeans crushed to produce the meal and oil are grown. The soybean meal and oil marketing years conclude September 30 of the following year.
